X Games proudly introduces "Showdown 2024," a brand new skateboarding competition showcasing sixteen hand-picked skate shops from across the United States, running though the month of May!
In this competition, skate shops vie for a $10,000 cash prize, plus more!
Participating shops submit 2-minute skate videos featuring their local teams. The bracketed elimination-style competition sees these shops going head-to-head until a deserving winner emerges on May 31st.
You, the fan, decide who advances, as viewers cast their votes to determine who will move on to the final round. The finals will be streamed live for fans to interact, while an esteemed panel of X Games judges scrutinizes the videos, contributing to the ultimate decision of who wins.
"Showdown" is not merely a competition; it's an immersive experience that pays respect to the skate shops that support their local skaters each and every day.
Introducing Showdown
The Facts
- Each shop submits a 2-minute video featuring their local team.
- Each matchup will be open for voting for 24 hours only from 9am PT / 12pm ET until 9am PT / 12pm ET the following day.
- Fans can vote each day at XGames.com/showdown and can vote one time per round.

- The top two shops that advance to the finals will have 10 days from 5/20 -5/30 to film additional tricks and re-edit their videos.
- The finalists re-edited videos will go live on May 31st 9AM PT and be open for voting through the live stream.
- The finals will be live-streamed and hosted by Gary Rogers on May 31st at at a time to be announced.
- The winner will be announced live after the finals.

- 5/16 - X Games will announce the teams that moved on to Round 3
Round Three:
- 5/17 - East Vs. West
- 5/18 - South Vs. Midwest
- 5/20 - X Games will announce the two teams that have advanced to The Finals
Final Round:
- 5/30 - 9am PT / Noon ET - New finalist videos launch! Voting open!
- 5/31 - 3pm PT / 6pm ET - Final Showdown live show with Gary Rogers, the professional Showdown judges and the reveal of the fan vote results, all contributing to our Showdown winner.
