X Games Ventura 2024

Australia’s Arisa Trew made history on May 29, becoming the first woman skateboarder to land a 900.   

It’s been a wild 12 months for the teen. She enjoyed the best X Games of any 13-year-old ever in 2023, earning gold medals in Women’s Skateboard Park AND Skateboard Vert. That smashed a record Shaun White set 20 years ago as the youngest to win two gold at one X Games and made Arisa the first female skateboarder to do the double. Oh, and she also used the first 720 in a woman’s vert contest for a dramatic walk-off victory.

Ryan Williams was sick as a dog when he arrived in Ventura during X Games California 2023. He felt much better leaving X Games with three medals, including two gold. It was one of the best performances by a BMX athlete in X Games history...

Kaskade, whose real name is Ryan Raddon, is a highly acclaimed figure in the electronic music scene. He is an eight-time GRAMMY Award-nominated musician, with notable achievements, including a 2023 nomination as part of Kx5, a collaboration with fellow producer deadmau5.

In a groundbreaking moment, February 2024 marked Kaskade’s historic role as the first- ever In-Game DJ during the Super Bowl, captivating an audience of over 123.4 million viewers, as reported by Nielson Media research. In March of 2024, he was named “Best Male Artist of the Year” from the iHeart Radio EDMA awards, with Kx5 being named “Best New Group” by the same. In February 2023, Kaskade and deadmau5 graced the cover of Billboard magazine, headlining SXSW. Their historic LA Memorial Coliseum show set a record for the largest single-day concert headlined by an electronic music artist in North America, according to Pollstar. Billboard magazine confirmed it as the biggest ticketed global headliner dance event of 2022.

Adding to his list of achievements, Kaskade mesmerized audiences with three sold-out nights at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles in December 2023. This unique performance featured a full live band and ensemble vocalists, marking his first-ever celebration of his Christmas Albums.

Known for breaking barriers, Kaskade became the first solo electronic dance artist to sell out Navy Pier in Chicago and the Staples Center in Los Angeles. He secured the first Las Vegas residency for a DJ, influencing the city's future entertainment landscape, and now holds a multi-year Resorts World headlining residency. Kaskade made history as the first electronic artist to headline Coachella and the only DJ to play at the Grand
Canyon West Skywalk.

Kaskade's fanbase is described as nothing short of evangelical, a testament to his ability to transcend genres. He has collaborated with prominent artists such as Alicia Keys, Jennifer Lopez, Gwen Stefani, and Meghan Trainor, which showcases a unique talent for creating his signature sound across various musical landscapes. Multi-platinum selling, GRAMMY and Golden Globe nominated recording artist Wiz Khalifa burst onto the scene with the release of his first major label debut album, ROLLING PAPERS‎ in 2011. ‎ROLLING PAPERS spawned the hugely successful hits “Black and Yellow,” “Roll Up,” and “No Sleep” and gave Wiz the platform to win the award for “Best New Artist” at the 2011 BET Awards and “Top New Artist” at the 2012 Billboard Music Awards. “Black and Yellow” also earned him his first two GRAMMY nods for “Best Rap Performance” and “Best Rap Song”.

As a follow up to ROLLING PAPERS, Wiz Released O.N.I.F.C. in 2012. This album featured tracks “Work Hard, Play Hard” and “Remember You” featuring The Weeknd. His third studio album released in 2014, BLACC HOLLYWOOD, ‎debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Top 200 album chart and included the hit single "We DemBoyz." Soon after, Wiz’s track,‎ “See You Again,” off the FURIOUS 7 soundtrack, catapulted to the top of the charts across 95 countries and earned him a Golden Globes nomination for “Best Original Song”. Wiz released his album, KHALIFA, in February 2016 as a thank you to fans which included the tracks “Bake Sale” featuring Travis Scott and “Elevated.”

In June of the same year, Wiz collaborated with Juicy J and TM88 to debut TGOD MAFIA PRESENTS: RUDE AWAKENING. On April 20th, 2017, to celebrate 4/20, Wiz launched his mobile app, Wiz Khalifa’s Weed Farm, which has garnered over 10.1 million downloads and is currently being played in over eight countries and six languages. In February 2018, Wiz partnered with Sovereign Brands to create McQueen and the Violet Fog, an Award winning gin and rated by The New York Times as the “Best Gin”. In April of 2019, Wiz released his 5-part docu series with Apple Music, “Wiz Khalifa: Behind the Cam,” which gives viewers an exclusive look into his life and career.

Wiz was also a series regular in Fox’s animated sitcom, “Duncanville'' which had its season 3 finale in 2022. Wiz released his project, The Saga of Wiz Khalifa, which was followed by his critically acclaimed collaborative album, FULL COURT PRESS, with Girl Talk, Big K.R.I.T., and Smoke DZA. In July 2022, Wiz released his full-length solo album MULTIVERSE, to rave reviews.

Wiz had a massive 2023 with the release of four new mixtapes; Star Power Mixtape, See Ya Mixtape, Khali Sober Mixtape and Decisions Mixtape. In addition, Wiz released four singles; “Don’t Text Don’t Call”, “Peace and Love”, “You” feat. Ty Dolla $ign, and “Hype Me Up”. This spring, Wiz made his Stagecoach Music Festival Debut and will also be releasing his new album, Kush & Orange Juice 2.

Devault is an American electronic musician known for his dark, cinematic style, heavily influenced by '90s and 2000s skate culture. In 2023, he broke out as a touring artist, selling out headline shows in LA and New York, along with performing at festivals including Coachella, Electric Forest, and HARD Summer. He recently celebrated his new release "It Isn’t Easy" featuring Ekkstacy and DJ Topgun with a pop-up release event at Brooklyn Projects Skate Shop in Los Angeles.

On July 4th 2017 FEVER 333 made their riotous live debut at Randy’s Donuts in Jason Aalon Butler’s hometown of Inglewood CA. The band would soon be cemented as one of the most captivating and genre-bending musical projects today resulting in Grammy nominations for their debut LP STRENGTH IN NUMBERS headliner dates supporting major tours and festivals across the globe amassing over 151 million total streams. 

Possessing the premier elements of everything from hip-hop to hard rock to punk FEVER 333 has found a unique way to fuse their eclectic influences to create a genre-less entity with no rules or limitations. Their valiant exploration of vast sonic landscapes has led to collaborations with an array of diverse artists ranging from Papa Roach to Travis Barker to Poppy.

Mija is an American DJ/Producer with 10+ years experience touring around the world. She first gained notoriety in 2014 when a random encounter house/techno b2b with Skrillex went viral online. Since then, she has released a vast amount of music spanning across many genres while consistently returning back to her house/techno roots. Most of Mija’s catalog is self-released on her record label Never B Alone. In 2024 Mija opened her label to the public and has been supporting releases from brand new artists.

Since their first party at an East L.A. dive bar, Morgan Freed and T.J. Petracca have turned Emo Nite into a phenomenon. Top-tier emo artists and pop culture icons like Post Malone and Demi Lovato have participated, creating a unique sense of community. Before Emo Nite’s debut in December 2014, “emo” was often dismissed, but Freed and Petracca, who grew up loving the genre, sought to change that.

Petracca, a Park City, Utah native, grew up skiing and listening to emo music, blending his love for action sports with his passion for the genre. This connection is evident in the vibrant, inclusive community Emo Nite fosters, reminiscent of the camaraderie in action sports.

Emo Nite events, now held in over 50 cities, feature surprise performances and have curated spots at major festivals like Coachella and Lollapalooza. The founders have also launched successful clothing collaborations, solidifying Emo Nite’s cultural impact.

“What Emo Nite does best is make ‘emo culture’ feel both nostalgic and brand new,” says The Summer Set’s Brian Logan Dales. As emo enjoys a resurgence, Emo Nite remains a space for celebrating diversity, passionate catharsis, and authentic expression. It’s more than a party; it’s a community-driven experience where everyone belongs.

Short for Avant-Garde Club—more than lives up to its name. Since releasing their debut project "Halfway Off the Porch" in 2020, lead members Jody Fontaine and Baby Boy have created at the intersection of raw emotion and innovative style for anthems that are sleek, fun, and engrossing. As a result, they’ve earned more than 41 million combined global and video streams while establishing themselves as an emerging force in the Bay Area. 

Alongside their passion for creating innovative music, the members of AG Club have always aligned themselves in the world of action sports and high octane past times. From skateboarding and biking to taking their cars to the drift track - AG Club are adrenaline junkies at heart.  As of late they have also integrated performing a series of daring stunts in their most recent music video BARRY.

AG Clubs in-house content team, CAJH, are not just great with the camera - but they are also nice with a skate deck. In fact, their film/editing abilities were refined after years of capturing skate content at the Brentwood skatepark in their hometown. In fact, they went back in 2021 and hosted a community skate competition sponsored by VANS and HUF - where they crowned the East Bays Best Skater.

In essence, the energy translated in their music is a direct derivative of their deep love of the action sport lifestyle.

When you think about Alternative music Oxymorrons undoubtedly come to mind. The New York-based boundary-pushers have made a name for themselves in the spirit of change. They boldly committed to creating music that defies arbitrary rules of classification, cementing the band as early pioneers of the modern genre-blending revolution. 

Their high energy performance and versatile sound makes for a potent combination that never disappoints.. They have received co-signs from Billboard, Kerrang!, The Fader, Alternative Press, Complex, Hypebeast, Ebro of Beats 1 Radio, Daniel Carter BBC1 Radio and many more. They have also found synergy in brand partnerships with Dr Martens, HUF, Microsoft, Taco Bell, Hot Topic and beyond.


Sean Van Vleet formed Blame My Youth, a move that was solidified when the band’s first single was selected as the closing credits theme on the GRAMMY-nominated soundtrack of Bill & Ted Face the Music. Since then, the band has been on the rise, going on tour with global acts like HARDY, The Offspring and more. In 2023, their single “Prizefighter” was chosen as WWE Night of Champions (theme song) and featured in Fox Sports, CBS Fire Country, ESPN Top Rank Boxing. One of their latest single's “The Break” has been hitting alternative airwaves across the county, ahead of their anticipated debut album coming in 2024.

Born from tequila and a desire to bring metal heads and traditional mariachi fans together, Metalachi fuses mariachi with rock and metal covers for your listening pleasure. They enjoy playing soccer in chanclas with socks, and chasing the elotero down the street on hot summer days, and are proud supporters of the XGames. Meet the hosts and talent of X Games Ventura 2024 Presented by SONIC.

Selema Masekela is a beloved host, actor, entrepreneur, philanthropist, musician, and avid outdoor lover. Selema thrives as a Black man who has historically been ‘the only’ in the spaces of action sports & entertainment. It’s these unique life experiences that pushes Selema to be a narrator of the human experience - highlighting people & places through lenses that break molds & redefine culture.

Tony Hawk The godfather of skateboarding, Tony Hawk returns to the X Games broadcast booth after dropping in at X Games Chiba in May as the oldest athlete at 55 years old. At X Games alone, Tony has 16 medals, including 10 gold, which ties him with Andy Macdonald for the most-medaled skateboarders at X Games. Receiving his first skateboard at nine years old, by 14 he had turned pro. A World Champion for 12 years in a row, he continues to skate demos and exhibitions internationally, and remains the most recognized action-sports figure in the world. 

Today, his business skills have helped create a Tony Hawk brand that includes a billion-dollar video game franchise, Hawk Clothing apparel company, Birdhouse Skateboards and the Tony Hawk Signature Series sporting goods and toys. On the media side, Tony hosted a show on SIRIUS XM radio’s Faction channel for 14 years and he owns production company 900 films. Tony’s foundation, The Skatepark project helps underserved communities create safe and inclusive skateparks for youth - over 600 and counting.

Getting his start in skateboarding, Jason has since added radio personality, MMA fighter, New York Times best-selling author, actor, singer and, most recently, stand-up comedian to his impressive resume. The host of the daily Jason Ellis show on SIRIUS XM radio for more than 15 years, Jason has now transitioned to the podcast world with The Jason Ellis Show podcast and Hawk vs. Wolf podcast alongside Tony Hawk. A proud father, Jason is also an advocate for the LGBTQ community.

Jack Mitrani is one of snowboarding’s most popular personalities. After spending 12 years as a competitive snowboarder, he translated his talents into a career that celebrates his entrepreneurial and vivacious spirit.

Early in Mitrani’s career, he got his start by producing gut-busting comedic skits, and has since refined professional action sports footage that broadcast greats such as ESPN, HBO and NBC have chased down through the years. Today he is best known as a television host — most notably serving as the host of X Games — Frendly Gathering cofounder, content creator and Martin Guitar Ambassador.

Born and raised in Long Island, Mitrani’s family moved to Vermont after he and brother/pro snowboarder Luke convinced their parents to allow them to attend Stratton Mountain School, where snowboarding was a part of the curriculum. Mitrani currently resides in Burlington, Vt. with his wife Hannah and their children, Willa and Scout 

Credentialed as an intern correspondent to cover X Games while in college, Kristen has now come full circle as the newest member of the X Games broadcast talent team. Covering everything from Supercross to NASCAR to football and baseball, Kristen has 10 years of experience as a sports reporter. The current World Supercross Correspondent, Kristen grew up in Southern California racing moto, skateboarding, surfing and snowboarding.

Brandon Graham once again will provide play-by-play commentary for all Skateboard events. The Bay Area native has been a part of the X Games team since 2013, handling skateboard play-by-play for the summer events as well as broadcast duties for the World of X Games series on ABC. Graham previously served as the play-by-play voice of Rob Dyrdek’s Street League Skateboarding. He currently resides in Austin, Texas, with his wife Nadia and their two children, Sofia and Bowen.

Rogers made his X Games telecast team debut in 2017 and will again provide analysis for the Men’s Skateboard Street competitions. Beginning his on-air career with a satirical online skateboarding news program called Skateline, Rogers is an uber fan of skateboarding who offers unapologetic commentary in the space. Skateline was quickly picked up by Tony Hawk’s Ride Channel who funded and distributed the show for several years until it moved to Thrasher Magazine’s site where it streams currently.

A TV personality and professional skateboarder, Corbin Harris began his professional career at the age of 15, when he landed his first ad in a magazine and earned himself a spot on the legendary Vert-X team in Sydney, Australia. At the age of 19, Corbin began his career in broadcasting, with a job at action sports network FuelTV. Corbin then followed that up hosting two of his own TV shows, Corbin Presents and later, Popgun – a Rove-inspired action sports talk show. His goal with his future projects is to help take Australian skateboarding into the mainstream, and he views his involvement in TV and with brands such as Red Bull and X Games as the perfect platform from which to do that.

Born and raised in Poland, Amelia Brodka began skateboarding after her family emigrated to New Jersey in 1996. Brodka turned pro in 2009, while simultaneously earning a bachelor’s degree from USC. Her senior thesis and directorial debut – Underexposed: A Women’s Skateboarding Documentary - aimed to shine a light on gender disparities within Skateboarding. In 2012, Brodka founded Exposure Skate Organization which is a non-profit dedicated to empowering women through skateboarding. Her skateboarding earned her a pro model with Arbor Skateboards and a spot on Team Visa. Brodka represented Poland at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics where she finished in 17th place. Brodka and husband Alec Beck currently reside in Vista, California.

TV personality Jimmy Coleman has been skateboarding since the age of eight. It was skating that would help start his career as an announcer back in 1993, but by 1997 it became a full-time opportunity. Over the last two decades, he has hosted numerous action sports events and demonstrations all across the globe, as well as some mainstream sporting events. Coleman has had the opportunity to watch and work with many of the biggest names in the industry. Coleman first joined the X Games broadcast team in 2000 at X Games Six in San Francisco, Calif. For the last 18 years he has acted as the play-by-play commentator for all X Games BMX events.

Cranmer will provide analysis for the BMX Dirt and Dave Mirra Best Trick competitions. Staring his career as a BMX racer, Cranmer quickly realized his love of Freestyle. Competing in his first Freestyle competition in 2003, he beat out the best in BMX en route to one of the most stellar rookie years in BMX history. Ove 10 years later, Cranmer is a multi-time X Games and Dew Tour winner. With nine total X Games medals, Cranmer owns three Park gold medals. Cranmer also owns The Incline Club BMX park in New Jersey, where he often is found teaching local BMX riders in his hometown.

An actor, singer songwriter and model, Gabrielle got her start in snowboarding as a teenager. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Gabby became the first female black pro snowboarder as her incredible rail skills, plethora of video parts with all-girls Peepshow crew and memorable video part in 2011's Winter Wars broke boundaries. Transitioning out of pro snowboarding and into the acting / modeling world, Gabby landed her first noteworthy role in the 2017 Amazon series I Love Dick. Most recently, she landed a role in Stranger Things 2.

One of the most progressive riders in women’s freestyle motocross, Vicki Golden will join the X Games broadcast booth for the first time in 2024. Vicki got her X Games start by winning back-to-back-to-back Moto X Racing gold medals from 2011-2013.  In 2011 she became the first female to qualify for an Arenacross main event and in 2014 she became the first woman to complete Ricky Carmichael’s Road to Supercross.She then proressed her riding on the freestyle side, becoming the first woman to compete in Moto X Best Whip at X Games 2013 and the first woman to compete in X Games Real Moto in 2020. She earned a bronze in her first Best Whip and fourth place in Real Moto against fields of male riders.  In 2019, she became the first female to backflip the moonbooter ramp (12-ft) on the Nitro Circus Tour and smashed through 13 wood walls of fire, on History Channel’s “Evel Live 2”, setting a world record.

Eunice is a skateboarder and content creator from the Greater Los Angeles area. She started skateboarding at 13 years old in the suburbs of Rancho Palos Verdes and learned by watching YouTube tutorials and from the other kids in the neighborhood. Eunice quit her job 3 years ago to pursue skateboarding and social media full-time and has since worked with brands including Street League Skateboarding (SLS), collaborating on various projects and events that highlight her skills and passion for the sport.

Beyond skateboarding, Eunice is known for her advocacy of positive lifestyle choices and community involvement. She frequently partners with brands and participates in events that promote inclusivity and empowerment within the skateboarding community.

Born and raised in the Newcastle suburb of Merewether, Australia, Mitch Tomlinson is a multi-specialized creative who began his career in team management for some of Australia’s best skaters, along with announcing and hosting, driven by a genuine love for action sports.

His love and passion for action sports has seen him work within the industry on many different levels for over 15 years and continues to do so today. His youth was immersed in everything related to skateboarding, snowboarding, and surfing, from his local skatepark and the waves out front to his winter trips to the mountains. Everything in his life revolved around these elements.
Mitch co-founded Australia’s largest pop culture website, Life Without Andy (@lifewithoutandy), where he continues to serve as creative director. This platform and creative agency is widely considered the southern hemisphere’s premier online portal to youth pop culture and attracts millions of monthly viewers.

Mitchell has presented and commentated on action sports events at various skateboarding, surfing, and snowboarding competitions in Australia. This includes hosting all major skateboarding events in Australia, from Bowl-a-rama and X Games to Belco Bowl Jam, as well as the 2014, 2018, and 2022 Winter Olympics for snowboarding, and the 2020 and 2024 Summer Olympics for skateboarding, for major networks.

Being part of the X Games announcing team is honestly a dream come true. From being glued to the screen watching idols when I was young to now seeing the new generation of talents compete, it is not only exciting but will be mind-blowing to see it all unfold.
