Ledeux Redux! Tess Makes History
What an X Games Aspen 2024 for French skier Tess Ledeux. After cruising to gold in Women’s Ski Big Air on Saturday evening, she won the Slopestyle title on Sunday. In the process, the then 22-year-old made history and has become one of the most accomplished skiers all-time at X Games.
Ledeux laid down one of the best runs ever witnessed in women’s ski slopestyle, regardless of event. Highlighted by a double cork 1260 and double cork 1440 back-to-back to end her pass, it was the first time in women’s ski or snowboard competition history that a double cork 1260 and dub 1440 were landed consecutively. “I can’t believe it,” an overwhelmed Ledeux told X Games analyst Maggie Voisin immediately following her first run. “I just landed my best slopestyle run ever.”

The double gold increased Tess’ total medal count to 10, equaling Kelly Sildaru for most X Games Ski medals among women.
Swiss Skiers Mathilde Gremaud and Giulia Tanno earned silver and bronze, respectively. For Gremaud, it was redemption after a rough Big Air event the night before. For Tanno, it was much more: XG Aspen had been her own personal house of horrors, including suffering injuries that knocked her out of X Games and forced her to miss the Olympics in both 2018 and 2022. But she buried that bad juju at Aspen 2024, stomping one of the best Slopestyle runs of her career for a 5th X Games medal (three of which had come at XG Norway).
