Men's Ski Big Air Aspen 2024 Revisited
Podmilsak goes from Worst to First with Final Ski Big Air Jump
Troy Podmilsak sat in last place when he dropped in for his final jump in the X Games Aspen 2024 Men’s Ski Big Air contest. Seconds later, he was on his way to gold. The 19-year-old stomped the most anticipated trick of the night, the forward triple cork 2160. The trick scored a 43 (of a 45 max) and catapulted him to victory, his first X Games medal. He was the only person to have landed the trick in a contest as of XG Aspen 2024.

Podmilsak edged fellow Park City, Utah, resident Alex Hall for gold. Style-master Hall earned his 4th X Games Big Air medal. It was his 10th XG medal overall; he would add an 11th later in the weekend. Austria’s Daniel Bacher surprised with bronze. The 19-year-old X Games rookie overcame a scary moment in Run 2 when he landed off-balance and blew right through the course’s safety netting. Bacher calmly shrugged it off, stomping stylish, creative tricks in Runs 4 and 5 for his medal.
